Grit. It is passion and perseverance for long term goals. It is having stamina and is sticking with your future, day in and day out. The foundation of this lesson is inspired by Angela Duckworth's theory of Grit. We explore grit through a real-world lens, allowing students to grasp its importance and how it can be applied to our lives.
In complement to this theory of Grit, we explore how we can adopt a growth mindset in the face of challenging things, what it means to truly embrace adversity, and befriend failure. When we can do these things well, we allow ourselves to build our grit muscle. Through engaging clips, fill in the blank activities, interactive information cards, and multiple-choice questions, students will complete this lesson with a greater understanding of Grit and what is looks like in their life.
With goals and dreams in mind, students will be inspired to continue in the pursuit of great things for themselves and the people in their immediate worlds.
